Competition Rally

Rally Foundations – This is an introduction to Rally class meant especially for those who are new to the sport. An emphasis will be placed on team building and learning how to do signs correctly, along with the basics of what to expect at a Rally trial and an understanding of what the Judges are expecting. We will be covering Novice and Intermediate signs, all done on leash. Signs will be learned in a sequencing format, several at a time, but not in a full course format.

Prerequisite: Dogs must have completed a Beginning Basic Obedience class or be evaluated by director.

Rally Novice – All Novice signs and skills will be covered. Introduction to signs will be taught. Practice courses will be set up using learned signs. Will focus on proper heeling, sits, etc. Dogs will be on lead. To move on to the next level, handler and dog must be working as a Team having fun with the skills you’ve learned. Handler must understand signs. May need to repeat class until handler and dog are ready to move.

Prerequisite: Dogs must have completed a Beginning Basic Obedience class or be evaluated by director.

Rally Novice/Intermediate – All Novice/Intermediate signs and skills will be covered. Practice courses will be set up using learned signs. Dog will start working off lead. Jumps will be introduced, including Bar, Broad, and Panel. May need to repeat class until handler and dog are comfortable working off lead, perform all jumps, and understand signs.

Prerequisite: Dogs must be actively working on Rally Novice/Intermediate Title or be evaluated by director.

Rally Advanced/Excellent – All Advanced/Excellent skills and signs will be covered. Practice courses will be set up using all learned signs with detail to improve your team’s performance. Jumps will be introduced, including Bar, Broad, and Panel. May need to repeat class until handler and dog are comfortable working off lead, perform all jumps, and understand signs.

Prerequisite: Dogs must be actively working on Rally Intermediate title or be evaluated by director.

Rally Course – Nested Rally courses will include Novice through Master signs. You will be working on improving your performance with help of the Instructor. This is a great way to keep your Team in condition for Rally competition at this level.

Prerequisite: Dogs must be actively showing in the RAE or RACH class or be evaluated by director.
