I started training 15 years ago with my 9 yr-old Cairn Terrier, Hobbes. Roo was my first competition dog and founder of The Roo Team.
I teach Beginner I&II Agility classes for beginner students and dogs. I love learning! I think I attend as many seminars as I do trials.
I currently serve on the DDTC Boards as treasurer and I am a member of our agility trial committee.
I am grateful for the trainers and opportunities DDTC provides to us. We are fortunate to have the resources of this organization. I hope you agree.
Kathy Chervenka began training her first Shetland Sheepdog in agility and obedience in the early 2000s.
She began teaching agility classes at DDTC and then became involved in teaching obedience. She currently teaches Novice/Advanced Scent Work.
Her Shelties have earned titles in Obedience, Rally, Farm Dog certification, Agility, Tricks, and Scent Work in multiple venues.
All her Shelties have been certified as therapy dogs, and they participate in the ‘Read to a Dog” program.
John teaches Beginning and Advanced Basic. Through years of experience, he has helped many people with dogs that have behavioral issues.
John competed in obedience and received obedience titles on his Irish Setters and Bouvier des Flandres.
John is affiliated with the Dog TAGS Program. He has helped to train service dogs for military veterans with PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury.
Teaching is my passion. I enjoy helping others develop positive relationships with their pups & watching them have fun working with their 4-legged partners.
I train & show my dogs in Agility - AKC, CPE & USDAA at the Master level. My dogs are titled in Agility, Obedience, Rally, Therapy Dog, Farm Dog & CGC.
I am DDTC’s 1st VP. I handle agility class registrations & serve on our Agility Trial Committee.
Chris began training dogs in 1996 with her first lab Stoli. And thus, began her love for dog sports and agility. Her next lab was Gryphon Puck who became one of the top five agility labs in AKC!
Her current family of labs include Bolt, MacGyver and Sunny D. She trains in Agility, Barn Hunt, Obedience, Tricks, Scent Work and Rally.
She currently instructs Intermediate/Advanced classes and helps teams learn to handle the dog’s line.
Chris loves watching her students succeed and enjoys cheering them on at trials.
Ann loves agility and has experience running fast and slower dogs. She has trained under many different types of instructors.
She trains and runs Border Collies and all of them run different. She shows in AKC, USDAA, and UKI and has competed at USDAA Nationals.
Ann has achieved many titles in agility. Her Border Collie, Wager, has achieved his USDAA ADCH title and Champion and Bronze level titles.
You’ll find her taking care of the judges at our trials and managing our Agility Run-thrus at the Club.
Judy has taught all levels of obedience, and currently teaches Competition Advanced Basic and Foundation Agility classes.
She has trained and shown her beloved shelties dogs in Obedience, Rally, Agility, Tracking, Herding, Tricks, and Scent Work.
Judy has achieved multiple titles in all but tracking. She has taught many performance training classes over the years.
Jane teaches Open and Utility classes. She loves the Labrador Retriever because they are versatile. She owns two boys -- Guiness and Ashkii.
Her love of training dogs is why she became an instructor. She uses the latest techniques and enjoys watching her students achieve goals.
Jane competes in obedience, rally, agility and hunt tests. Two of her dogs have achieved Obedience Trial Championship (OTCH) titles.
She serves as Obedience Director and is responsible for the training curriculum.
Karen teaches the Obedience Run Thru classes and all levels of Rally.
She enjoys training her two Labrador Retrievers in many dog sports.
She has put many titles on her dogs in various disciplines: Agility, Barn Hunt, Canine Good Citizen, Coursing, FAST CAT, Obedience, Rally, Scent Work, and Tricks.
Deb believes in strong foundation skills and celebrating training successes with lots of positive reinforcement.
She began agility with her two Aussies and has campaigned her Border Collie, Vail, for the AKC World Team.
Deb earned titles in Agility, Obedience, Rally, Tricks, Scent Work and Herding.
She competes at the highest levels in AKC, UKI, and USDAA and was a finalist in the AKC Nationals.
Deb has many USDAA titles including metallic ADCHs & multi-time and multi-dog semi-finalists in Grand Prix & Steeplechase.
Theresa teaches Competition Novice classes. She attends workshops/seminars that provides her students with a better understanding of learning.
Her love of dogs began with a 2-yr-old chocolate Lab -- Remington. He inspired her to communicate in dog language, so she learned T-touch training.
Theresa competed in AKC Rally Nationals in 2014 and has competed in Obedience from Beginner Novice through Open.
She currently trains her dog Aspen in Utility Obedience and all levels of Rally. She also trains to compete in AKC Hunt tests.
I started in this sport with my American Cocker after watching it on television. She was fun, ran fast, and loved “food.”
I got addicted to Agility and have trained both American and Working Cockers and Border Collies.
My personal philosophy of training is to keep it positive and fun. I love watching those I’ve taught and seeing them achieve success.
I have made finals in many competitions and served as an alternate on the US team in Europe. I became a judge for AKC and UKI.
I thank DDTC for helping me get started in agility and welcome new people into our program.

Toni teaches a FUNdamentals class. She has taught KPT Puppy classes and will begin teaching a Rally Novice class this year.
Toni began obedience training over 30 years ago with her Doberman, Brett and then became interested in Agility.
After getting her first Pyr Shep, she was in love with the breed and has been involved in Conformation, Rally, Obedience, Herding, and Agility.
Toni loves volunteering and has done a lot for the Club over the years.
Rene teaches FUNdamentals, KPT and Canine Good Citizen here at DDTC.
She has two Pyrenean Shepherds, Rio and Grace, with whom she competes in agility, obedience and rally.
Her dogs have competed in their national specialty, winning Overall High in Performance and Obedience High in Trial.
Most recently, Rio and Rene have earned their fourth Masters Agility Championship!
Rene loves teaching, keeping in mind that every dog and handler team is different.
Anne teaches KPT. She competes in obedience and agility with her Labrador Retrievers.
Anne has earned advanced obedience and agility titles with several of her dogs.
Her other interests include therapy dog training. She is a qualified evaluator for Therapy Dog certification.
She is active in the Therapy Dog Reading Programs and Therapy Dog Use for children with disabilities.
Ruth Ann teaches our KPT Puppy Kindergarten and Advanced Rally classes on Saturday mornings.
She got her first Golden Retriever in 1979 and began training at DDTC the same year. She became an instructor in 1982.
She currently owns two Golden Retrievers named Scotty and River.
I started training my first dog, Petto, in 2003. Since then I’ve trained five Rough Collies and Shelties and earned four DDTC HIT honors.
I’ve earned six MACH titles and have attended US National and International events (World and European Open) with my shelties, Lina and Edward.
I believe in positive training and breaking things down. My goal is to teach the student to que the dog and find the proper line.
No matter what their goals, I support my dog teams and enjoy watching my students succeed in the ring.
Lauren teaches a Rally Course Class. She joined the Club in 2009 and decided to take a few classes with Tilly, her Australian Shepherd.
Tilly exuded such aptitude in classes, Lauren decided to compete with her. She also competes with her other two dogs, Stella and Sid.
The four travelled to many trials including AKC Rally & Aussie Nationals. Tilly and Sid earned their first RACH’s in 2018 and in 2019.
Tilly was ranked 1st and Sid 2nd in their breed in AKC Rally. Lauren was the first to earn two RACH’s with two dogs.
Lauren enjoys helping her students and their dogs become a team. No matter the path they take, she says, “It’s all about having fun.”
